Davie Day - Saturday, September 10, 2011

Now that the summer is winding down, can the fall season be far behind? An early harbinger of fall is the annual Davie Day Street Festival, an ebullient gathering that attracts people from all over.

We were delighted to play this Festival once again. Performing at the corner of Davie and Jervis streets at the entrance to the Arts and Culture section, we entertained with seven straight hours of music - with a few breaks, of course to enable the musicians to resuscitate themselves. The first group to entertain was BLJQ - the Bob Liley Jazz Quintet playing their high energy form of bebop. The next group to entertain was the Bob Mahaney Quartet who captivated audiences with their mainstream jazz offerings.

Check out the Festival site at this link http://www.davieday.ca/index.php?area_id=1009.
