Linton Garner - Count Basie

Every year around this time I'm reminded of my good friend, Linton Garner, Erroll's brother, who died in March of 2003. I learned a lot from Linton, both musically, and about life. I think of him often and still miss him. Since we are doing a concert with our big band at Jazz Vespers on Sunday, April 17 featuring the music of the great Count Basie orchestra, I would like to dedicate this concert to the memory of Linton, one of the most genuine and unassuming people I have ever known.
